Playing With Fire

From the Washington Times…

If I read this story right, both China and Iran are seriously in for a wake up call.  China is playing both sides of the fence, arming Iraq directly through their new government, and arming insurgents through their Iranian allies.  The idea of Iranian supply is probably not directly China’s fault, but I guarantee they know about it if we know about it.

So let me get this straight:  We have finally confirmed two nations that are directly and indirectly providing weapons that are killing Amercian soldiers and Iraqi citizens.  Not to mention we have known for some time that a great many of the insurgency is made up of Iranian nationals.

We know that their president has made direct threats against us and our allies… how much more do we need?  And how could things possibly be looking up?

After 9/11 there really was no concrete direct involvement from the nation of Iraq.  Saddam funded terrorists, gave quarter to terrorists, gave money to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers, and supported terrorists in his rhetoric.  If it’s a war on terrorism as a whole, he had to go.

When Americans see a flag behind our enemies, as they did with the Taliban in Afghanistan, they support the action we take.  When Americans see a flag behind those who are killing American Soldiers, they demand swift action.

Things are looking up because the direct threat is being revealed.  We kicked up a nest in the Middle East, and they have a queen… her name is Iran.  We’ve pulled back the curtain and found the Wizard. From the beginning we knew Iran was the number one State sponsor of terrorism, it was only a matter of time before she revealed herself in this conflict.

It’s hard to be optimistic during these times, but you have to be.  Since we kicked up the nest and found the queen we must eliminate it.  Whether politically or militarily.  These same Iranian-motivated religious extremists have plagued the world since the Munich Olympics started putting them on TV.

Iran’s totalitarian government has made their contribution to the world, which is apparently terrorism.  Shouldn’t they be held accountable?  I think they should, and I think they will.  Whether they go the way of Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union, they need to just plain go–so a free and peaceful Iran can rise up in its place.
