Indiana Jim and the Return of the Voicemail

Okay, so I went back to K7 for another try at the voicemail thing.
206-350-8474 is the new number.
Please, call this thing and leave whatever the heck you want to on it.  If you want to plug something, vent, rant, compliment me, insult me, or you’re just bored and need to say something… whatever, people.  Call the […]

An Amazing Thing Just Happened

Now, I know other podcasters have had this happen before, and I guess it’s not really a big deal…
But someone just donated $10 to the show, for “Support for a totally airwolf, snakes-on-a-plane geekologist’s podcast.”
HOLY CRAP!!!!
So this is what “popping the donation cherry” feels like?  I won’t divulge the name, but I am exceedingly grateful!  […]

New Link Added - Living Dice

Hey RPG’ers out there.  I want to bring to your attention a blog site called Living Dice, at http://www.livingdice.com.
Trask runs the site, and he’s an avid gamer in the Phoenix area who blogs about different gaming-related topics.  There are links to module resources and a fledgling forum that looks as though it would be a […]

So Much for Idle Threats

I told you that on April 1st you had to be subscribed to the new feed, http://feeds.feedburner.com/aij.
Yeah?  Well… you don’t have to if you don’t want to.  Sheesh.  Eighteen people listened to my idle threat.  Eighteen!  Oh well.  My kids don’t listen to me either.

Attention Subscribers: Feed Changing

Thanks to my buddy Brad over at PodCulture, my procrastination has been beaten into submission!
I have established a new Feedburner feed.  I was amazed that “aij” was actually available!  Just three little letters.  For new subscribers, the new feed–linked above–is available now for subscriptions.
Now, for those of you subscribed to feeds.feedburner.com/thingsarelookingup, I want you to […]

Standby for AIJ Episode One

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that the new mixer is in and a new episode is forthcoming shortly.  I’m still scrambling for a theme, though.  I wanted something instrumental and epic.  Very brassy and adventurous.  Still searching.  My first order from Digital Juice is on its way, so there may be something in […]

A Word About Delays

Much is going on in the world.  A list:

Work on a website that will result in immediate influx of much-needed cash.
Awaiting shipment of backordered mixer.
Graphic design related to show name change

I received clearance from Summer at FPM to go ahead and change the name, so I’m working on the logos, also once the website project […]

Lets Break 100

Feedburner subscribers has jumped up to 94 today!
If you currently subscribe to a feed other than http://feeds.feedburner.com/thingsarelookingup, please update this today!  If you can, this will help me and the principals of Farpoint Media know exactly how many people are eagerly anticipating the optimistic outlook of Things Are Looking Up.
Also, send an email to anyone […]

Voicemail Discontinued

Yeah hey, it’s me.  Yes, I’m about to do something very strange for a podcaster.  I’m getting rid of one of my avenues for feedback.
Well actually, for some reason my number disappeared, and I know it had been less than thirty days since it was used last, but it was gone.  So I wanted to […]

Update on podcast

Hey.
You may be wondering what the heck is taking so long.  Busy busy busy is what’s taking so long.  Spending two days getting rid of a 99 Expedition and 98 Windstar for an 04 Concorde.
Tee Morris interview episode may be coming on Saturday.

Things Are Looking Up joins Farpoint Media

That’s right, your friendly neighborhood archgeekologist has joined forces with the fastest-growing podcast distribution company out there.
To quote Harrison Ford, upon realizing the popularity of Star Wars, “Time to get to work.”
Get ready. Things Are Looking Up is about to get amazing.

Coming Soon - SWE Episode VI

Come heck or high heels I will have an episode for you on June 9th.
On the following Saturday I hope to release to you the recording of the panel on which I appeared at ConCarolinas entitled, “Star Wars: Is the Force Still With Us After 30 Years?”
Very soon my report on ConCarolinas will be making […]

And now, for my first trick…

Being my first post in reference to ConCarolinas… let’s call this the prologue, shall we?
I am at S&S Tire in Lexington, KY (heartily recommended, by the way. They have WiFi!) waiting to have the front driver side tire replaced on my Enterprise Rent-A-Car. I have some opinions about them, too.
Regardless, I was to be in […]

One short week later, a record again

Remember that three day record last week?  Broken.  The two days of that three day period?  SMASHED.
In two days, on the 19th and 20th, the episode with my interview with Lou Tambone garnered 87 downloads!
The total for the three days was 102!
Thanks again for keeping things looking up around here!

The Biggest Opening to Date

Just wanted to give a big shout out to all my faithful listeners, as well as the new ones, whoever you are.  Since the 5/12 episode went live, Saturday netted 13 downloads, Sunday got 21, and Yesterday drew a whopping 45 downloads, for the single largest three-day period in my podcasting history!
Also, if you have […]

Remember May 2? Watch it now!

The show from May 2 on Headline News is now on YouTube.

April Episode Delayed

Ah, the joys of Libsyn.
My account for the current monthly period is filled up just to the point where I can’t upload the new file.  Files are kept active on the current allotment for thirty days from the day I upload them.
The April Episode is completed, but the earliest episode will not be archived until the […]
